Hand-carved bridge graces Kinder route

A hand-carved wooden bridge has been installed on a popular route to the Peak District’s highest fell.Timber from a tree only 200m from the site was used to make the structure, which crosses Golden Clough, in the Grindsbrook valley, en route for the Kinder Scout plateau.

'Frozen body' on fells is missing walker

Police today confirmed the identity of the man whose body was found encased in ice on the Cumbrian fells.After a check of dental records, and following a post-mortem examination on Christmas Eve, it was revealed that the body was that of missing walker Christopher John Dalgleish, who went missing more than a month ago.Christopher John Dalgleish, whose body was found on the Cumbrian fells He had last been seen shopping in Ambleside on 22 November.
