Walkers using GPS receivers are being warned of further military jamming exercises in the coming months.

Ofcom says signals from the orbiting Global Positioning System satellites will be the subject of jamming near the Stanford military training area near Thetford in Norfolk.

The jamming signals will extend for 5km (3 miles) around the area, next to the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path.

GPS reception may be affected between the hours of 6am and 9am from 19 to 23 September inclusive, and from 4pm to 7.30pm on those dates. Further jamming may occur from 17 to 21 October from 9am to 5.30pm.

Walkers intending to rely on GPS signals for their navigation at these times are advised to use manual mapping and navigation.
