A walker was airlifted from a Lake District fell after injuring herself in a fall.

Nine members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team went to the woman’s aid after the incident on Hole Rake, between Coniston Coppermines Valley and Tilberthwaite this afternoon.

Jeff Carroll of the Coniston MRT said: “The casualty was treated for ankle injuries by team members and paramedics from Great North Air Ambulance. She was airlifted to Furness General Hospital, Barrow-in Furness by the GNAA.”
