Rangers in Glencoe are warning that a car park and bridge will be closed for repair work to be carried out.

The National Trust for Scotland said work on replacing the An Torr bridge will start this week.

The charity said the car park at the site, near the Clachaig Inn, and the bridge will both out of use to the public from tomorrow, Wednesday.

A Glencoe Rangers spokesperson said: “We will need to close the car park to the public for the duration of the work.

“We hope the bridge works will be completed by mid-March, and the car park and bridge will then reopen.

“We apologise for the closure but this work is essential to replace the bridge and provide access into An Torr from the car park once again.

“The rest of the paths in An Torr will remain open and can still be accessed from the gate and path near the Clachaig Inn.”

The pub, which is a popular watering hole for walkers, climbers and other outdoors enthusiasts, welcomed the move, saying on its Facebook page: “Great news at last.

“Having been closed for more than two years, we’ll hopefully have the bridge across to the old centre car park open again by Easter.”
