The mountain biker who died in a fall at Laddow Rocks has been named.

Gordon Moss, 54, of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, was with five companions on Black Hill when he fell on Sunday.

A police spokesperson said he was ahead of his friends on the route, who came across the fallen rider at the site, north of Crowden.

Sixteen volunteers from Kinder Mountain Rescue Team and five colleagues from the Glossop team were joined on the hillside by the North West Air Ambulance and a police helicopter.

Mr Moss was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was recovered from the hillside by the police helicopter.
