Yorkshire rescuers help in Highland search

A fell rescue team from Yorkshire was in action today – in the Scottish Highlands.The team, which was training in the area, have joined forces from Tayside Police and a helicopter crew from RAF Lossiemouth searching for a missing 83-year-old man in Perthshire.George Borthwick was last seen in his back garden in Pitlochry at 7.45 this morning.

Gay climbers' group joins BMC fold

A lesbian and gay climbing club was among nine new organisations affiliated to the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) at its national council meeting yesterday.The London-based Not So Trad – Southern Lesbian and Gay Climbers’ Club was ratified as an affiliate, along with the Metropolitan Police Mountaineering Club and the Taunton Trailblazers.
