Rescuers searching for a missing man have found a body in Grizedale Forest.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was joined in the search on Saturday night by RAF MRT members who were in the area on a training exercise. An RAF helicopter and police also took part in the search for Malcolm Alan Rennison, 47, of Skipton, North Yorkshire.
The man’s blue Ford Focus was found in Grizedale Forest and a body was discovered in the area being searched. A formal identification has not yet taken place.
The area in which the body was found was covered in deep undergrowth and snow had fallen. The search had resumed yesterday after being called off overnight.
Mr Rennison was last seen by his wife in Skipton at 10.30am on Saturday.
