The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is asking climbers not to exacerbate problems at a Staffordshire crag.

The owner of the ERF rocks, also known as the Wicken Stones, is denying access to the site, which is on private land. BMC access representatives say they hope to meet the owner soon to discuss the problem, but are asking cragrats to stay away for the time being.

The crags, near Biddulph on the western edge of the Peak District, have been used for bouldering, but the BMC says climbers have been involved in a couple of altercations and are asking that the situation is not aggravated before their meeting. The rocks are not on access land.
