A walker was stretchered from a Lakeland fell today after injuring herself in a fall.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called at 2.45pm to help the woman after she slipped at Colwith Force waterfall, near Little Langdale. 11 volunteers took part in the rescue.

Jeff Carroll of Coniston MRT said: “The casualty was treated for ankle injuries by Cumbria Ambulance paramedics and stretchered off the fell by the team for transfer to Furness General Hospital by Cumbria Ambulance Service.”
