A woman was airlifted from a Lake District fellside after she became ill.

The 18-year-old Cockermouth woman suffered an allergic reaction while on Blencathra on Monday.

The Great North Air Ambulance was scrambled at 1pm and flew to the scene.

The helicopter’s doctor and crew treated her at the site before flying her to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for further treatment.
