The missing man's car was found at Horton in Ribblesdale

Police area appealing to outdoor enthusiasts to be on the lookout for a missing man who failed to appear at court to answer sexual offences charges.

Michael Tordoff-Brown, aged 49, from Wortley, Leeds, was due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.

West Yorkshire Police said they are very concerned for his welfare.

The missing man’s car, a silver Renault Clio with the registration number YC06 XOZ, was found in Horton in Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire Dales, starting point for many Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge walkers and also popular with other outdoor fans.

The search for Mr Tordoff-Brown switched from Ambleside in the Lake District to the Horton area after the discovery of the car.

He is described as white, about 5ft 10ins (178cm) tall, with receding, cropped dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark olive brown fleece and dark Craghoppers-style cargo pants.

Anyone who has seen someone fitting his description in the area or who has any other information is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
