A man died after collapsing on Ben Nevis at the weekend.

The unnamed 35-year-old was descending the mountain just after 2pm on Saturday when he became unwell. A helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth went to the walker’s aid and he was airlifted to Belford Hospital, Fort William, where he was pronounced dead.
Northern Constabulary said no details of the deceased would be released until his next-of-kin had been informed.
