Three men had to be rescued from Snowdon after a festive foray to Wales’s highest peak went wrong.

The trio, students from London, got into difficulties on Crib Goch yesterday, Christmas Day. They were airlifted from the ridge by an RAF Sea King helicopter.

Members of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team also went to their aid after they were alerted at 2.45pm yesterday, Thursday.

The men, aged between 18 and 23 and said to be poorly equipped, were taken to Nant Peris, cold, but otherwise unharmed.
