Jethro Lennox on his way to victory in last year's Three Peaks Race

The strange connection between hillwalking and chess finds itself cheek-by-jowl with a discussion on the merits of Snowdon’s new cafe in the latest edition of the ‘hillzine’ The Angry Corrie.

There is also an inquest into last year’s Original Mountain Marathon debacle, a personal retrospective on the year by top fellrunner Jethro Lennox and a discussion of the thorny issue of the wildernista view of wind turbines.

The magazine is on sale at various outlets throughout Scotland and in the Lake District. It takes a sometimes erudite and always less than reverent view of hillwalking. Also included in the 75th edition are 18 hillgoers accounts of their first ascent.

Edited by occasional grough contributor Dave Hewitt, the Angry Corrie costs £1 and is also available by contacting Dave at theangrycorrie@googlemail.com.
