The fellrunner who died in a mountain race at the weekend has been named.

Mark Lear, 45, of Pentir, Bangor, collapsed during the International Snowdon Race on Saturday. He was treated at the scene, 300m (984ft) below the summit, and airlifted to the Ysbyty Gwynedd, but pronounced dead at the hospital.

A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out on Mr Lear, a civil engineer, today.
