A walker has died after falling from Wales’s highest mountain.

The man was airlifted by RAF Sea King helicopter to hospital but was pronounced dead. The walker, from Wiltshire, was on the Watkin Path with his wife when he fell 25m (80ft).

The man is believed to have fallen near the summit of the 1,085m (3,560ft) mountain.

Members of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team went to his aid, along with the crew from RAF Valley.
