Steven Bailey: police are appealing for sightings

Police in the Lake District are appealing for help in finding a keen hillwalker who has been reported missing.

Steven Bailey of Ambleside was last seen on Tuesday, 5 January, in Windermere, but has not been seen since. A friend reported the 51-year-old missing this morning.

Windermere police describe Mr Bailey as a keen mountain walker and cyclist.

He is 6ft 1in (1.85m) tall, of an athletic build with balding grey hair. He was last seen carrying a rucksack and is police say he is likely to be wearing walking boots and outdoor gear.

He is a fan of the outdoors and the Lake District. Anyone with any information or who sees a man matching his description is asked to contact Cumbria Constabulary on 0845 33 00 247.
