Police in north Wales are looking for a mystery cyclist whose mountain bike has been left chained to a telegraph pole for more than a month.

Officers say they are concerned for the safety of the man who left the red Carrera Vulcan at the entrance to Uwchlaw’r-ffynnon farm at Llanaelhearn on the Lleyn peninsula on 3 September.

A spokesperson said: “Police are concerned to establish the identity and whereabouts of the cyclist to ensure that he is safe and well and are appealing for him or anyone who has any information to contact North Wales Police.”

The bike was chained to the post on the B4417, near the 564m (1,850ft) Yr Eifl, about 3km from the north coast of the peninsula. The site is about 500m from the Llŷn Coastal Path.

Police said the bike was believed to have been secured there by a man between the ages of 30 and 40. The cycle had a small Winnie the Pooh-type teddy bear charm attached to the handlebars.

Anyone with information is asked to phone the police on 101 if in Wales, or 0845 607 1001 for the Welsh line or 0845 607 1002 in English, quoting incident L165520.
