A Lakeland farmer joined a mountain rescue team’s efforts to help a stricken student from a fellside.
The farmer’s help was enlisted to carry gear on his quad bike after an outdoor-course student injured her knee.
Members of the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called about 12.15pm on Thursday after the woman, from Thornaby-on-Tees, Cleveland, suffered the injury on the fell.
A spokesperson for the rescue team said: “The student was treated on the fell and given analgesia.
“She was stretchered down to Cote Farm, Howtown, and transferred to a North-West Ambulance Service ambulance. The student was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle. The local farmer assisted by transferring some kit further up the hill with a quad bike.”
