Walkers will be able to buy new digital versions of some of the best known guidebooks with the launch of an iPad application.

Cicerone, the Milnthorpe, Cumbria-based publisher, has added an iPad app to the existing Adobe eBooks software that can be used to view its books.

The iPad app can be downloaded free from the iTunes website, allowing more than 300 Cicerone guides to be bought and downloaded.

The company said existing eBooks that have been bought from Cicerone can be downloaded for no extra charge to iPads.

More details are available on the Cicerone website.
