An outdoors publisher is urging walkers to raise a glass to celebrate the completion of a set of its guidebooks.
Cumbria-based Cicerone has teamed up with Dent Brewery to produce a special ale and is offering free books to mark the final volume of Mark Richards’ Fellranger series.
The limited-edition beer will be available during July and August.
A Cicerone spokesperson said: “Author Mark Richards is an avid beer drinker, and enjoys nothing more than a day on the fells, followed by a refreshing post-walk pint.
“So what could be better than to finish off a great day on the hill with a pint of Fellranger?
“For a little extra fun, Cicerone will be giving away a Fellranger guidebook every single day the beer is available.”
Walkers need to buy a pint of Fellranger from one of the pubs selling the beer. They should then take a picture of themselves or their group enjoying their pint of Fellranger, with either the pump clip or a Fellranger beer mat included.
They should then either upload the picture to the Cicerone group on Flickr with the tag Fellranger or, if they don’t have a Flickr account, email the photo to the publisher.
Cicerone asks that file size should not exceed 1MB, but said there is no limit to the number of pictures beer-loving walkers can upload.
