A climber who died when he fell from a rockface has been named.

Adrian Bridge, 60, of Gwernymynydd, Flintshire, fell while on a route at Pot Hole Quarry, Llanferres, on Friday.

Ambulance paramedics and North Wales Fire and Rescue went to the scene of the incident about 6.45pm, but Mr Bridge was pronounced dead at the scene.

Members of the North East Wales Search and Rescue Team helped recover the climber’s body from the quarry.

The limestone quarry, also known as Three Springs Quarry, is a popular climbing venue with beginners with routes from Very Difficult grade, up to E3.
