Walkers and outdoor enthusiasts planning to use a bothy on a Highland estate are being warned it could be cramped after one room was left unusable by storm damage.

The roof on the north room of the Culra bothy blew off during recent storms, putting that area of the shelter out of use.

The Mountain Bothies Association, which maintains the building, said anyone planning to use the bothy during the Christmas and New Year period should be aware that the remaining accommodation in the bothy might be very busy.

The association added that an assessment of the damage will be made as soon as possible.

The bothy lies north of Ben Alder, south-west of Dalwhinne, at grid reference NN 523 762.
