A Highland shelter that was damaged in the December hurricane is now back in use.

Part of the Culra bothy on the Ben Alder estate was put out of action when the winds blew off the roof.

The Mountain Bothies Association, which cares for the building, warned at the time that the shelter could get crowded walkers and outdoor enthusiasts would only have use of one remaining room.

But the MBA said the Ben Alder estate has made temporary repairs to the roof.

A spokesperson said: “The room that was affected is now watertight and the bothy is once more fully functional.”

The bothy lies north of Ben Alder, south-west of Dalwhinnie, at grid reference NN 523 762.
