Participants in last year's Adventure Challenge

A leading outdoor brand is offering a young adventurer the chance of a free three-week Outward Bound experience, along with £500-worth of gear.

Berghaus is looking for candidates for the prize, which can be taken at one of three locations in the Lake District, Scottish Highlands or Snowdonia.

The competition is aimed at young people with a passion for adventure who would like to try out a range of outdoor activities from rock climbing and abseiling to kayaking and canoeing.

The adventure, which usually costs £1,449, will give participants the chance to boost their confidence, feel more independent and learn skills, while spending every night camping out under the stars.

The winner will have the chance to plan and lead his or her own journey in the wilderness along with their team and will also receive Berghaus kit worth £500.

Angela Turley, marketing communications manager at Berghaus, said: “The Berghaus Adventure Challenge is all about helping people who have adventure in their heart to achieve their ambitions.

“By teaming up with the Outward Bound Trust in this way, we’re able to help inspire young people to follow in the footsteps of some of our sponsored athletes and fulfil their own dreams of adventure.”

Closing date for entries is 31 May. More details are on the Berghaus website.
