Police searching for missing hillwalker and ornithologist Euan Wright have found a man’s body.

Officers made the discovery about 2.15pm today near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire.

The body was found on the coastline of the Fowlsheugh nature reserve at Crawton.

A spokesperson for Tayside Police, who earlier today appealed for sightings of Dundonian Mr Wright, said: “The man has not been formally identified and enquiries into the full set of circumstances are continuing.

“As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
