Police searching for missing hillwalker and ornithologist Euan Wright have found a man’s body.
Officers made the discovery about 2.15pm today near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire.
The body was found on the coastline of the Fowlsheugh nature reserve at Crawton.
A spokesperson for Tayside Police, who earlier today appealed for sightings of Dundonian Mr Wright, said: “The man has not been formally identified and enquiries into the full set of circumstances are continuing.
“As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
The man’s body was flown by helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
A search was launched for Mr Wright, a keen hillwalker and ornithologist, after he failed to return home and having last been seen on Saturday afternoon.
