A woman was rescued from a Lake District fell after falling and injuring herself.

The walker was in the Three Dubs area of Claife Heights yesterday when she slipped and suffered a suspected broken ankle.

Members of Coniston Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 1.10pm and went to the woman’s aid.

She was treated at the scene and then carried from the 270m (886ft) fell and then taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow in Furness.

Twelve volunteer team members took part in the rescue.
