Two walkers were airlifted to hospital after falling in the Highlands.

The men were walking on Stob Coire Easain near Loch Treig about 1pm yesterday when one of them fell and slid about 100m (328ft) on icy snow.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team was called out and a Sea King helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth flew to the scene.

The second man also suffered injuries after falling while going to help his companion.

Both men were treated at the scene and airlifted to Belford Hospital in Fort William for further treatment.

One man broke his wrist and both suffered cuts and bruises in their fall.

Police said the two men have been discharged from hospital.
