A walker was airlifted from a Lake District fell after collapsing.

The 64-year-old man was on Fleetwith Pike today when the incident happened.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 11.25pm and 18 volunteer members were involved in the rescue.

The man was treated at the scene before being stretchered down the 648m (2,126ft) hill to the waiting helicopter of the Great North Air Ambulance.

A doctor from the air ambulance then took over treatment of the walker.
