A walker was rescued after slipping and suffering a suspected broken ankle.

The 19-year-old woman was walking near Llyn Dinas, north-east of Beddgelert, when she fell.

Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 1.35pm on Wednesday to help ambulance crew at the incident.

A team spokesperson said: “With limited mobile phone reception, a member of the female’s party made their way to a nearby farm to raise the alarm.

“The team deployed one Land Rover ambulance and eight team members from their base at Porthmadog, who arrived on scene in good time to liaise with a Welsh Ambulance Service crew who had arrived.

“The casualty was treated for a suspected broken ankle by members of the Welsh Ambulance Service and Aberglaslyn team members, prior to being evacuated via stretcher to the waiting ambulance nearby.”

The rescue, the team’s 46th of the year, lasted two hours.
