A walker was rescued after fell and broke her ankle on a Lake District mountain.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 2.10pm yesterday after the 22-year-old woman from Leeds fell on Red Screes above the Kirkstone Pass Inn.

Team members treated her at the scene, gave her pain relief then stretchered her to a waiting ambulance.

The two-hour-long rescue involved 14 volunteer team members.
