Two walkers were rescued after getting lost on a Lake District fell.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 4.55pm today to help the pair from Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

The two were walking on Loadpot Hill in the High Street range when they became separated in low cloud.

Nine volunteer team members took part in the operation to find the walkers.

The first was found by the team making their way on to the fell and one of the team’s two search dogs found the second person near the 672m (2,205ft) summit.

The rescue took about five hours.
