A walker suffered a broken leg after her dogs pulled her off balance.

The 50-year-old woman was on the path leading to Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales yesterday when the incident happened.

She slipped on muddy grass on the route after her animals caused her to lose her balance and broke her lower leg.

The Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation was called out at 4.20pm and the team doctor and other members joined ambulance staff in treating the walker at the scene.

She was then stretchered to one of the team’s vehicles which took her to a waiting ambulance in Malham.
