A man was airlifted to hospital after suffering injuries in a fall in Glencoe.

Police were alerted yesterday about 3.20pm after the man fell in Cam Ghleann, on the eastern slopes of Stob a’ Ghlais Choire.

Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team was called out and a Royal Navy Sea King search and rescue helicopter flew to the scene from its base at HMS Gannet in Ayrshire.

The helicopter airlifted mountain rescue team members to the site and the mountaineer was stabilised at the site before the helicopter crew flew him to Belford Hospital in Fort William.

Police said he was kept in overnight for observations.

No further details are available, a Police Scotland spokesperson added.
