Events will take place in Cotswold Outdoors stores

A major UK outdoor retailer has chosen a spinal injury research organisation to benefit from its fundraising.

Cotswold Outdoor will support Wings for Life with a series of in-store events and sporting activities and by collecting donations from customers.

The company is encouraging its staff and customers to take part in bike rides, marathons, cake sales and fancy dress days to raise funds for the non-profit foundation, which conducts clinical studies and research.

Cotswold Outdoor chief executive Hans Falkenburg said: “Supporting this new charity is of great importance to us at Cotswold Outdoor, to help fund the vital research being conducted by Wings for Life.

“We’re looking forward to giving our staff, brands and customers some really different ways of donating, be that a self-challenging sporting trial, or a light hearted day of fun in store, and we hope everyone will give generously.”

Nikki Wilson, head of Wings for Life UK, said: “We’re really excited to be backed by such a well respected UK retailer in Cotswold Outdoor.

“We believe that the question is not if effective treatments and cures will be found for spinal injury, but when they will be found.

“We’re looking forward with anticipation to the innovative events that Cotswold Outdoor will be running to support us in this quest.”
