The Aberdeen team training in its early years

Mountain rescuers are on the lookout for ex-team members as they prepare to celebrate the organisation’s half-century.

Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team will hold a celebration evening in September and is appealing to former volunteers to come forward if they would like to join in the event.

The team’s 50th anniversary evening will take place on Friday, 26 September and will be followed on the Saturday by ‘a day at the Derry’.

A team spokesperson said: “If you are a former team member, or know of anyone who is, and would like to attend this event then please contact the operations manager.”

Ex-team members can email the team, leave a message by phone on 07840 211065 or write to the organisers at: Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team,
Peregrine Road, Westhill, AB32 6JL.

The team said anyone interested should contact them by 1 September. Full details will be supplied once final numbers are known.
