A climber has died after falling from sea cliffs in Cornwall.

The 34-year-old man fell while climbing at Gull Rock, south of Marsland Mouth on Saturday.

Coastguard and Devon and Cornwall Police went to the scene, north of Bude, after being alerted about 6.20pm, and an RAF Sea King search and rescue helicopter flew to the site, where the man, who police said was not from Devon and Cornwall, had been climbing with friends.

He was airlifted to North Devon District Hospital but pronounced dead there.

A police spokesperson said the man’s death was not being treated as suspicious. His family has been informed, the spokesperson added.
