Andrew Edwards was found in the Tyndrum area

A man who was reported missing has been found in the Highlands.

Police appealed to walkers to be on the lookout for Dorset man Andrew Edwards who was believed to have travelled to north Stirlingshire.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Forth Valley are pleased to confirm that missing Dorset man Andrew Edwards was traced earlier today in the Tyndrum area.

“Thank you to all who shared our appeal.”

Mr Edwards, 52, of Blandford Forum in Dorset, had last been seen by staff at a Fort William hotel at 10.15am on Monday. He texted a friend and a member of his family that evening to say he was in a mountainous area. Police said he had been upset and they were concerned for his welfare.
