Edward Davies went missing after heading for a walk in Glen Coe

The family of a walker whose body was found in Glen Coe has thanked rescuers who joined the search for him.

Edward Davies had been missing for 10 days after heading for a walk in the mountains.

His body was discovered on Wednesday afternoon.

In a statement issued via Police Scotland, the 39-year-old Hampshire man’s family said: “Our beloved Edward has died from a fall while hillwalking in the Sgùrr na h-Ulaidh area on Sunday 8 May.

“Edward’s family and friends wish to say how grateful they are to the police, the community of Glencoe and in particular the mountain rescue teams, who have been so very supportive during this difficult time.”

His family said he was a capable and experienced hillwalker and a wildlife enthusiast.
