A walker was airlifted from a remote Highland path after she fell and injured herself.

Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team was alerted on Monday evening when the walker fell on the Scoraig path near Little Loch Broom, north-west of Dundonnell.

A team spokesperson said: “With failing light and a poor weather forecast the team prepared to walk in to stretcher the casualty off the hill.

“However, a rescue helicopter from Stornoway arrived on scene and uplifted the lady to Raigmore Hospital leaving the team to walk the other walker off the hill.”

Team leader Donald MacRae thanked all the agencies involved.
