More than £40,000-worth of Ortlieb gear was stolen

An outdoors distribution firm is asking the public to be on the lookout for cheap gear after a shipment was stolen.

Cumbria-based Lyon Equipment said 10 pallets were taken from a delivery vehicle late last week.

The load had a value of more than £40,000 and consisted of Ortlieb products.

It was taken while en route to the company’s Tebay headquarters and was mainly drybags and cycling gear.

A Lyon spokesperson said: “Please keep your eyes peeled for any suspiciously low-priced Ortlieb products on eBay, Gumtree, etc and let us know if you spot anything.”

The company apologised to retailers for any stock shortages the theft may cause.
