The body of a woman has been found at a Yorkshire Dales beauty spot and climbing venue.

Members of the Cave Rescue Organisation were called out about 2.25pm on Wednesday to recover the body from the foot of Malham Cove.

A team spokesperson said: “The deceased was carried across a very fast-flowing beck, then driven down to the village where she was handed over to the undertaker.

“Meanwhile, a small group of team members went to the top of the cove to check the edge for any personal possessions or ‘evidence’.”

Malham Cove is an 80m-high limestone crag in the South of the national park.
