Rescuers searching for a missing walker in the Highlands have found a body.

Members of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team, working with the Inverness Coastguard helicopter, made the discovery on Thursday.

The team, along with a search dog, was called out on Wednesday evening to search the head of Glen Roy and had to brave challenging weather conditions and rivers in spate.

The search resumed on Thursday when the 67-year-old walker’s body was found.

A team spokesperson said: “Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this time.

“Once again a big thanks to everyone involved for the big effort required on these occasions.”
