If you’re hot with a PC and know your databases from your dongles, there’s a job you may be interested in.

The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is advertising a vacancy for an IT and database co-ordinator at it Manchester HQ.

The post pays between £24,474 and £29,891, depending on your experience. A major part of the job is the development and implementation of a new database. The BMC says an interest in hillwalking or mountaineering is useful but not essential. There are 26 existing staff working for the organisation, which has 65,000 members.

Closing date is 8 September, so don’t hang about. Full details are on the BMC website.
