A section of the South West Coast Path has reopened after ten years of closure.

The route between Thatcher Point and Thatcher House, near Torbay, was closed after a cliff fall. Now, the narrow section is open again after undergrowth and scrub was cleared, including 3m-high blackthorn.

Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust has been working on the path clearance since February and Torbay Council negotiated the reopening of the footpath with the owners of Thatcher’s House.

The 630 mile (1014 km) South West Coastal Path runs from Poole Harbour to Minehead on the edge of Exmoor.
