Blackpool and its more famous towerMention the world’s most famous climbing centres and you might think of Chamonix, Zermatt, Kathmandu, possibly even Fort William.

Blackpool and its more famous tower

But Blackpool? Well think again, because there’s a job on offer with Blackpool Council as the resort’s Climbing Officer. The resort more famous for its donkeys and big dippers also has a world renowned climbing wall and bouldering centre.

The Blackpool Climbing Towers are not as high nor as famous as their neighbour with the ballroom, but the 20m outdoor wall and indoor bouldering rooms are rated among the top in the country, and the Climbing Towers hosted the British Lead Climbing Championships for the last two years.

So, if you have held the Single Pitch Award for two years at least and fancy the job of managing the centre and its staff and promoting and developing climbing in Blackpool, get your application in. The job pays between £18,907 and £20,736 and the closing date is 25 July.
