LangdaleThe walker who died after falling from Jack’s Rake on Pavey Ark last week has been named.

David Kelsey, 54, of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, suffered multiple injuries after falling 45m (150ft) from the grade-one scramble in Great Langdale, in the Lake District. He was tackling the route with three companions last Wednesday, 16 July, when the fall happened.

Coroner Ian Smith opened and adjourned an inquest yesterday, Tuesday, 22 July.

The identity of the climber who died on nearby Raven Crag has also been released. Stephen Cutler, 45, of Preston, Lancashire, fell from a descent route on the rockface last Sunday morning, 20 July. Mr Cutler died in the intensive-care unit of the West Cumberland Infirmary, Whitehaven, the following day.
