The remains were found by members of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team and police officers who investigated the site at the southern end of Loch Einich, east of Kingussie.
The tent had been noticed by a gamekeeper a month ago. After reports that the tent was still there, officers and rescuers searched the tent on Tuesday and found the body of a man.
Police have now started enquiries to determine the identity of the man and trace his next of kin.
Loch Einich is bounded to the East by the 1,295m (4,249ft) Braeriach and to the West by the munros of Sgòran Dubh Mòr and Sgòr Gaoith.

10 September 2008Isn't Loch Einich bounded to the WEST by the 1,295m (4,249ft) Braeriach and to the EAST by the munros of Sg?ran Dubh M?r and Sg?r Gaoith? It's a great campsite. I was there a few years back. You can bike all the way to it & it's handy for bagging Braeriach.

10 September 2008Using the wrong end of the compass needle I'm afraid. Braeriach is indeed to the east of Loch Einich, and Sgor Gaoith to the west. This begs the question: did you climb Braeriach a few years back? Or was it Sgor Gaoith??? [smiley=think][smiley=wink]
