A walker is in hospital with a suspected broken neck after falling 60m (200ft) in the Cairngorms.

The man was airlifted after the incident on the Devil’s Point, in the Cairn Toul group, overlooking the Lairig Ghru. He was taken by a helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.

Braemar and Grampian Police Mountain Rescue Teams went to the man’s aid after being alerted to the incident about noon yesterday, Monday. He was walking with two others on the 1,004m (3,294ft) munro.

The unnamed walker’s condition is described as stable.
