A missing walker is safe and well after being found by rescuers in the Highlands.

The 17-year-old was found on Sgorr Ruadh by members of the Torridon Mountain Rescue Team at dusk today. Team leader said the man was found as winter conditions hit the munro in Wester Ross.

The walker had become separated from his group on the 962m (3,156ft) mountain. The rescuers were alerted at 2pm on Tuesday. Search and rescue dogs helped in the search and Stornoway Coastguard helicopter also took part in the operation.

The missing man was found about 4.30pm.

Former Kintail MRT member Peter Grant died on the peak in February after embarking on a solo climbing trip on the mountain, near Achnashellach.
